Shellrock Lake—Rock Lakes Loop Hike with Tasha

So, following my normal pattern, I'm writing to tell you all about a cool hike I recently did (ehem... three months ago). Better late than never they say. Anyway, on August 9th this past summer my friend Tasha and I went on this hike sort of as a test to see how we might fare on a much more strenuous one that we were planning on doing at Half Dome a week later. It turned out to be a beautiful place, depsite the hordes of mosquitoes, and it gave me the confidence to at least be willing to give Half Dome a shot. I was pretty worried about my knees and just about my ability to endure that kind of length in a day hike. My knees did fine and I was still (barely) able to walk at the end, so it was a success. As for Half Dome, that was also a success for the most part, but I'm getting ahead of myself. I'll get those pictures up soon (ahuum...two months from now). Since I'm writing this at 2:57am I'll leave the post at that and point you to the photos. Thanks for reading. :)
